At the Grand Scuttle of Scapa Flow, Germany’s remaining WWI fleet intentionally sank itself off Scotland’s Orkney Islands to avoid handing over the High Seas fleet as part of the peace terms. The day was recently re-examined by Dr Innes McCartney in his book 'Scapa 1919: The Archaeology of a Scuttled Fleet'. EIVA NaviSuite was part of this archaeological work as the software used to process the multi-beam data and model the wrecks thereafter.

NaviSuite Perio utilises AIS AtoN to broadcast the position of virtual buoys, resulting in increased deployment efficiency and providing greater deployment accuracy than what is possible with physical buoys.

The EIVA ScanFish remotely operated towed vehicle (ROTV) is designed to function as platform for subsea sensors. When PanGeo Subsea (now Kraken Robotics) contacted us to discuss the possibility of using the ScanFish together with their Sub-Bottom Imager (SBI) unit, the EIVA R&D team took up the challenge in May 2017 and four months later, a ScanFish XL was introduced. The ScanFish XL has a payload of 400 kg and has already undergone its first sea trials with promising results.
