The miniSVP is designed to make the best sound velocity (SV) measurements in the world available to everyone.
 
Featuring Valeport’s unique acclaimed ‘time of flight’ SV sensor, the miniSVP is available for rental in the version made of acetal rated to 500 m depth. A single C cell and large flash memory allow hundreds of profiles to be recorded, and the pre-programmed profiling patterns allow it to be set up and deployed quickly and easily.
 
We provide a bracket and cables for easy integration on the ScanFish for online sound velocity profiles, eliminating the need for a moving vessel profiler (MVP).

Data acquisition

Features a selection of pre-programmed sampling regimes, covering many standard applications. Data may be sampled from 1 to 16 Hz, making the miniSVP suitable for rapid profiling or for continuous measurement at a fixed point.
 
The miniSVP has two sampling modes:
 
Continuous: Regular output from all sensors at 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 Hz
 
Profile: Logs data as the device falls (or rises) by a defined amount through the water column

Communications

The miniSVP will operate autonomously, with setup and data extraction performed by direct communications with PC. Operates in real time, with a choice of communication protocols fitted as standard and selected by pin choice on the output connector.
