Launching VideoRay Pro 5

2 November 2018

The VideoRay Mission Specialist Series (MSS) Pro 5 has now been launched as the latest small ROV solution built for speed and efficiency.

The Pro 5 system builds on the proven legacy of its predecessor, the Pro 4, but delivers greater thrust, longer tether lengths, and higher resolution video along with advantages of the MSS modular systems.

New VideoRay Pro 5 as latest small ROV solution

A powerful, versatile ROV solution

As a highly modular platform measuring 62.5 x 49.3 x 35.1 cm, the Pro 5 is built around a configurable system of interchangeable components.

As VideoRay states: ‘This topology provides an extremely flexible and customisable platform which can be easily adapted to target specific missions. It is this flexibility which sets apart the Mission Specialist ROV Series from current technology in the Remotely Operated Vehicle Industry.’

Slightly smaller than the MSS Defender, the Pro 5 is designed to handle missions with size, space, weight, and deployment speed constraints, such as infrastructure inspections inaccessible to divers, search & recovery, or exploring the ocean floor. The system is depth rated up to 305 meters.

Payload options

Retaining the simple plug and play characteristic of the Pro 4, both the hardware payload and software of the Mission Specialist Pro 5 can be easily adjusted in the field in response to operator requirements.

Payload options include, Blueprint Oculus forward-looking multibeam sonar (M750d or M1200d), Micron USBL or SeaTrac USBL, and either Dual axis or Single axis manipulators.

The Pro 5 also supports high-resolution video, up to 1920 x 1080 at 25 FPS, vehicle autonomous control software and other positioning tools.

NaviSuite Mobula

While you’re here, it is worthwhile for us to highlight some of EIVA’s recent developments surrounding advanced ROV control software.

This year, EIVA showcased a yet-to-be-released software solution at EIVA Days Denmark: NaviSuite Mobula is a fully integrated 3D ROV control user interface, enabling automated functionality, including ‘navigate to waypoint’ and ‘follow line’ capabilities, alongside real-time visualisation of ROV sensors via NaviPac.

With the latter capability, ROV roll, pitch, depth and heading, as well as forward looking sonar data, can all be modelled, displayed and recorded.

NaviSuite Mobula also supports multiple live feed cameras, with video replay synchronised to position track and event data.

To date, we have demonstrated successful integration of NaviSuite Mobula with several leading ROV vendor platforms, including VideoRay Pro 4.

If you’re curious about enhancing ROV functionality with NaviSuite Mobula, just get in touch.
