EIVA is a leading engineering company delivering cutting-edge solutions to the international maritime industries. We develop and provide equipment, software and various services to customers specialising in ocean sciences, offshore wind, oil and gas, and construction, to name just a few markets we’re active in.
As part of the development of the EIVA sales team, we are on the lookout for a team member to support delivery of our maritime hardware and system solutions.
The position represents a great opportunity to join an innovative company and contribute to a well-established, international sales network featuring offices in Denmark, Germany, Brazil, the Philippines and the UK.
You would be ensuring that EIVA customers have the tools to successfully conduct maritime operations, including wave and currents measurements, hydrographic surveys and ocean studies, employing technologies such as GPS, sonar, LiDAR scanners and subsea robotics, to name but a few.
The full-time position will be based at EIVA headquarters in Stilling, Denmark, but offers opportunity to travel to clients and events.
The technical sales manager will be principally involved in enhancing EIVA’s Nordic market sales presence and market share, whilst also supporting Nordic market customers, together with the rest of the sales team.
Within this role, key functions include communicating how EIVA hardware and third-party solutions can meet customer project requirements and secure successful outcomes, as well as closing deals. Sale of software solutions may also play a role in activities of the position to some extent, depending on your profile and experience.
Communications skills together with an aptitude for understanding technologies relevant to maritime industries are therefore essential.
As the position entails fostering both existing and new customer relationships, you can expect to be traveling between 20 and 30 days per year. Travels will include visiting customers to advise on solutions offered by EIVA and to conduct technical meetings, as well as attending industry events and exhibitions across Scandinavia and beyond.
The ideal candidate…
- Candidates must possess a strong understanding of technologies relevant to the scope of the position, as described above, acquired through experience in the maritime industry; or, alternately, an education relevant to maritime industries (eg oceanography) or a relevant engineering degree (eg electronic engineering or global business engineering)
- Sales experience would be most welcome, but is not a requirement so long as you hold strong, demonstrated communications skills
- Has a commercial, growth-oriented mind-set, and the proactivity to nurture good relations with customers
- Enjoys interacting within teams, navigating both an internal network of colleagues and external network of partners and customers
- Possesses strong English language skills (both written and spoken)
- Is fluent Danish (both written and spoken), and is able to understand Norwegian and Swedish
Please don’t be afraid to apply – even if you know nothing about the offshore industry!
Knowledge of products for the maritime surveying and construction industry would be most welcome, but is not a requirement provided you hold an education in a relevant discipline, as defined above.
We know that we operate in a niche industry, so if you’re new to the maritime world, we’ll be sure to equip you with all necessary introductions to our activities and solutions before you dive into the EIVA waters.
Equally, we welcome applications from young minds — fresh, enthusiastic and recently out of education. You don’t have to have a long resume, just a willingness to apply yourself!
